Full-body imaging will start Friday at Lambert

ST. LOUIS • Passengers boarding planes at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport will go through full-body imaging machines at one of the security checkpoints starting Friday.

The Transportation Security Administration said two new imaging devices at Lambert will use low-level X-ray beams to screen passengers for metallic and nonmetallic threats, such as weapons and explosives.

One of the devices will debut Friday at Terminal 2, which houses airlines including Southwest. A second one will go live on Tuesday. More will be deployed in the future to other Lambert checkpoints...
