Monthly Terror Drills Now Required By Law For Students Including Kindergarten And 1st Graders

Terrorism drills train students to be sitting ducks for terrorists

Kindergarten and 1st grade students are now required by law to participate in monthly terrorism drills, including active shooter, bomb threat and evacuation drills.

I recently received my 1st grade students back to school paperwork. Going through the packet I found a letter serving notification that my son is now required by law to participate in monthly anti-terrorism drills.

In fact, after doing more research, I learned that all NJ schools which provide services to children from Kindergarten and up are now required by law to participate in monthly drills...[Full Article]

CIA Pitches Scripts to Hollywood

Wired

Are you an aspiring filmmaker who wants to produce a spy thriller? Well, you’re in luck because the CIA has a pile of script ideas lying around.

Ironic, you say, that an organization known for secrecy is doling out helpful hints to Hollywood? The CIA doesn’t think so. For them it’s all about image control. And they’re just the start of it. The Department of Defense and just about every branch of the military has an entertainment industry liaison similar to the CIA’s.

If you want to make a war film and need a fleet of F-22s, a crowd of Marines, or a Navy aircraft carrier, just call up the Department of Defense’s entertainment media office and they’ll tell you if the Army can spare that M1A1 Abrams tank you’ve always wanted for a day or two of filming.

“The scripts we get are only the writer’s idea of how the Department of Defense operates,” Vince Ogilvie, deputy director of the Defense Department’s entertainment liaison office, told Danger Room. “We make sure the Department and facilities and people are portrayed in the most accurate and positive light possible.”

Hollywood has been working with government organizations to make more credible films for years (for instance, Jerry Bruckheimer and Paramount Pictures worked closely with the Pentagon when filming the 1986 blockbuster “Top Gun”). But the phenomenon is under newfound scrutiny. There was a bit of a kerfuffle recently when some in the press and in Congress speculated about whether the government will give Sony Pictures any pointers while they make a film about the killing of Osama bin Laden...[Full Article]

Enhanced Pat-Downs At NFL Games? America Is Rapidly Turning Into A High-Security Prison

End of the American Dream

The NFL has announced that it will be implementing "enhanced" pat-downs at all 32 NFL stadiums. Once this is fully implemented, the 16 million fans that attend games each season will be frisked from the ankles to the knees and from the waist up. Apparently this new level of security was brought on by a recent incident where a Cowboys fan smuggled a stun gun into a game between the New York Jets and the Dallas Cowboys and started zapping other fans with it. As usual, authorities have responded to a minor security incident by massively overreacting to it. In the post-9/11 world in which we live, paranoia is standard operating procedure. Those that are responsible for security are far more interested in "covering their backsides" than they are in respecting the liberty, freedom and dignity of average Americans. America is rapidly turning into a high-security prison. When naked body scanners and "enhanced pat-downs" went into U.S. airports, those that warned that we would soon see these types of "Big Brother" security measures pop up at train stations, bus stations, shopping malls and sporting events were dismissed as "conspiracy theorists". But it turns out that the "conspiracy theorists" did not even fully understand how quickly all of this nonsense was going to spread. How much "security" is going to be enough? Where in the world is the line going to be drawn? If groping all fans is "necessary" for security at all NFL games, how long will it be before it is implemented at all other sporting events across the United States? (Read More.....)

Big Sis Ordered NFL Grope Downs

Guilty until proven innocent – the decline and fall of America accelerates

The NFL’s new policy to conduct pat downs of all people entering stadiums nationwide is a consequence of the organization’s partnership with Homeland Security, the federal agency that has come to resemble an occupying army enforcing the notion that Americans are guilty until proven innocent.

Big Sis Ordered NFL Grope Downs NFL%20x large

“The NFL wants all fans patted down from the ankles up this season to improve fan safety,” reports USA Today.

“Under the new “enhanced” pat-down procedures, the NFL wants all 32 clubs to search fans from the ankles to the knees as well as the waist up. Previously, security guards only patted down fans from the waist up while looking for booze, weapons or other banned items.”

The Buffalo Bills and the Indianapolis Colts have already announced the new measures will be in place for this weekend’s games.

The policy arrives following the NFL’s partnership with the Department of Homeland Security, who back in January for the Super Bowl recommended that fans entering the Dallas Cowboys stadium be subjected to airport-style metal detectors as well as pat downs. The NFL is following orders as it gets on board with the plan to litter the United States with checkpoints at public places where Americans will be forced not just to show their papers, but to assume the position for minimum wage morons to conduct invasive pat downs of themselves and their children.

But this only marks the beginning of the role DHS sees itself in assuming as part of its occupation of the country.

Homeland Security is also developing technology to be used at “security events” which purports to monitor “malintent” on behalf of an individual who passes through a checkpoint. The promotional video for the program explains how “Future Attribute Screening Technology” (FAST) checkpoints will conduct “physiological” and “behavioral” tests in order to weed out suspected terrorists and criminals.

The clip shows individuals who attend “security events” being led into trailers before they are interrogated as to whether they are terrorists while lie detector-style computer programs analyze their physiological responses. The subjects are asked about their whereabouts, and if they are attempting to smuggle bombs or recording devices into the “expo,” proving that the technology is intended to be used at public events and not just airports. Individuals who do not satisfy the first lie detector-style test are then asked “additional questions”.

Tests for the program were carried out by the DHS back in May, suggesting its implementation is close to fruition. Forget pat downs – the next step for entering NFL stadiums, shopping malls or any public place where crowds gather will be a behavioral interrogation and a radiation body scan.

The NFL policy was enacted following the arrest of a man for using a stun gun at the New York Jets-Dallas Cowboys game last weekend. Using that logic, any time a gun is used in a shopping mall, on a highway or in any building or at any event, everyone will be treated as a criminal and subjected to a pat down as a routine response.

It is estimated that over 16 million people will undergo the grope downs over the course of the football season, acclimatizing them to accept the notion that the 4th amendment is completely null and void. And you can forget the argument about ‘no one is forcing you to go to a football game’ – pat downs and body scans are set to completely infest every level of society – there will be no easy way out if you want to live any kind of reasonable public life whatsoever.

In the coming years, staying away from airports won’t be enough to avoid a run-in with goons groping your private parts. Homeland Security has embarked on a massive gestapo-like occupation of America where “security” checkpoints will litter highways and roads, transport hubs, as well as public events and anywhere crowds gather, and even as saw recently in Santa Fe, at your kid’s local prom night.

This in turn will be reinforced by an army of citizen tattle tales being trained to be the eyes of the state under the See Something, Say Something campaign, which was heavily promoted ahead of the 2011 Super Bowl.

Indeed, Big Sis has made herself a permanent fixture of public life, popping up at every major event and now at Wal-Mart to remind Americans that they live in a police state and should behave obediently and meekly accept the body scans, the behavioral interrogations and the pat downs unless they want to be treated like a terrorist. The NFL has prostrated itself to be exploited by the DHS as a showcase for turning America into a Soviet-stye hellhole. This special relationship between the state and the private sector to push police state measures is a classic example of an inherently fascist public-private partnership that we have seen many times before in historical tyrannies.

America in 2011 is all about being guilty until proven innocent and the complete evisceration of what the country is supposed to stand for in the pursuit of unobtainable “security”. The NFL is merely the next stop on the road to transforming America into one giant prison camp, where the prisoners will constantly have to prove their obedience every time they enter a mall, a sports event, a public building, a stretch of highway, or any place imaginable that formerly allowed freedom of movement.

Bloomberg: Jobs crisis could spark riots here

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is worried that high U.S. unemployment could lead to the same kind of riots here that have swept through Europe and North Africa.

"You have a lot of kids graduating college, [who] can't find jobs," said Bloomberg, during his weekly radio show on Friday. "That's what happened in Cairo. That's what happened in Madrid. You don't want those kinds of riots here."...[Full Article]

Postal Service faces grim ‘new reality’

The Hill

The current mail system of the United States is "no longer financially sustainable," and the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) is looking for billions of dollars in cuts to its services.

The postal service announced Thursday it was considering closing nearly 250 processing facilities, cutting equipment by 50 percent and slowing mail delivery in an extreme cost-cutting effort. It is looking for $3 billion in annual savings.

And as the president and Congress search high and low for ways to boost job creation, up to 35,000 people could be laid off as part of that effort.

"We are forced to face a new reality today,” said Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe. “With the dramatic decline in mail volume and the resulting excess capacity, maintaining a vast national infrastructure is no longer realistic."...[Full Article]

The stricter physical screening policy impacts the 16.6 million fans expected to attend live regular season NFL games this season. The more thorough searches will spell longer lines for ticket-holding fans seeking entry to games. It's sure to raise the ire of some fans who consider it an invasion of privacy...[Full Article]

Unelected, Unaccountable, Unrepentant: The Federal Reserve Is Using Your Money To Bail Out European Commercial Banks Once Again

The Economic Collapse Blog

For a moment, imagine that there is a privately-owned organization in the United States that can create U.S. dollars out of thin air whenever it wants and can loan that money to whoever it wants to. Imagine that this organization is able to act with the full power of the U.S. government behind it, but that nobody in the organization is ever elected by the American people, and that for all practical purposes the organization is not accountable to the president or to Congress. Imagine that the organization is able to make trillions of dollars of secret loans to banks, to foreign governments and even to their close friends without ever having to face a comprehensive audit. Does that sound preposterous? Well, such an organization actually exists. It is called the Federal Reserve, and today we found out that once again the Fed is going to be taking huge piles of your money and loaning it to commercial banks in Europe. The Congress cannot overrule this decision. Neither can Barack Obama. Because it has so much power, many refer to the Federal Reserve as "the fourth branch of government", but unlike the other three branches of government, there are basically no significant "checks and balances" on the Federal Reserve. If you don't like the fact that the Federal Reserve is racing in to help big foreign banks survive the European debt crisis that is just too bad. The Federal Reserve pretty much gets to do whatever it wants to do, and the folks over at the Fed simply do not care whether you like that or not. (Read More....)

Poverty In America: A Special Report

The Economic Collapse Blog

America is getting poorer. The U.S. government has just released a bunch of new statistics about poverty in America, and once again this year the news is not good. According to a special report from the U.S. Census Bureau, 46.2 million Americans are now living in poverty. The number of those living in poverty in America has grown by 2.6 million in just the last 12 months, and that is the largest increase that we have ever seen since the U.S. government began calculating poverty figures back in 1959. Not only that, median household income has also fallen once again. In case you are keeping track, that makes three years in a row. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, median household income in the United States dropped 2.3% in 2010 after accounting for inflation. Overall, median household income in the United States has declined by a total of 6.8% once you account for inflation since December 2007. So should we be excited that our incomes are going down and that a record number of Americans slipped into poverty last year? Should we be thrilled that the economic pie is shrinking and that our debt levels are exploding? All of those that claimed that the U.S. economy was recovering and that everything was going to be just fine have some explaining to do. (Read More....)

Rick Perry And The HPV Vaccine: Would A Real Conservative Attempt To Forcibly Vaccinate 12 Year Old Girls For A Sexually Transmitted Disease?

End of the American Dream

The debate about Rick Perry and the HPV vaccine is a battle for the very soul of the Republican Party. Right now, Rick Perry is parading around the country talking about how "conservative" he is, but would a real conservative attempt to forcibly vaccinate 12 year old girls for a sexually transmitted disease? If Rick Perry really wants government to be as "inconsequential" in our lives as possible, then why did he issue an executive order that mandated that 12 year old girls in the state of Texas be injected with a highly controversial vaccine? Rick Perry did not even consult the Texas legislature and he spat right in the face of parental rights when he did this. Conservatives in the United States love to talk about how much they love individual liberty and about how much they love parental rights, but they keep supporting candidates that are trampling on our liberties and our freedoms. Forcing young girls to be injected with a highly controversial government-mandated STD vaccine is something that we would expect Barack Obama to do. Rick Perry keeps saying that he wishes he would "have done it differently", but you will notice that he is not saying that he was wrong for trying to do it at all. The really sad thing is that you have all kinds of "conservative Republicans", "evangelical Christians" and "Tea Party activists" running around defending Rick Perry on the HPV vaccine issue. All of those people should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. (Read More.....)
