The TSA chose Meg McLain for special screening. They wanted her to go through the new porno-scanners. When she opted out, TSA agents raised an enormous ruckus. When she asked some question about what they planned to do to her, they flipped out. TSA agents yelled at her, handcuffed her to a chair, ripped up her ticket, called in 12 local Miami cops and finally escorted her out of the airport. Doesn't this video make you sick? But, there is a way to avoid all this. If you are Federal Reserve chairman, you don't have to go through any of this. On December 7, 2009, Fed Chairman gave a talk before the Washington D.C. Economics Club. I attended the event.This is what I reported the next day:

Yesterday at the Economic Club of Washington D.C. luncheon, where Ben Bernanke spoke, during the Q & A he was asked what he liked best about being Fed chairman.

He joked, "Moving quickly through airport screening lines."

As the old saying goes, there is probably an element truth to this "joke." After all what best epitomizes, power and some kind of sick superiority then being able to move through an airport security line without having having to empty your pockets, take your shoes off and stand with arms spread for a wand inspection? All the while cruising through with two armed guards.

Two days later I followed up with this report:

As I reported earlier this week, Federal Reserve Chairman Bernanke bragged about being able to go through airport security without being screened. He also teased the crowd and said he could carry a container with more than three announces of liquid. Well it turns out lots of politicians get this VIP treatment.


The Internet posting of the TSA 93 page, airline passenger screening playbook was a real eye opener. Not only have TSA’s screeners made up their own rules, politicians get special treatment, reports Paul Huebl.

Members of Congress, governors and lieutenant governors, the mayor of Washington, D.C., and their immediate families all get special treatment and are not screened.

That's right, become a top grade sleazeball politician or bureaucrat and you are not screened.

BTW: I am convinced it is Obama Administration operative Cass Sunstein, who is behind these "options". See The Obama Administration From Nudge to Grope. I'm sure he is planning many more nasty options for us, in many parts of our lives.

NEW YORK (CBS 2/WCBS 880) — Friday’s UPS scare is prompting increased security measures at the nation’s airports. That could include newly introduced pat-down procedures.

Traveler Staci Reidinger told CBS 2’s Jay Dow she’s not happy about the Transportation Security Administration’s use of new full-body X-ray scanners. But citing privacy concerns she said it’s better than allowing a security agent put their hands on her.

“It’s not my religion, but there are many religions where a woman should not be touched by someone else other than their husband, and things like that. It’s not appropriate,” Reidinger said.

New, more intrusive full-body pat-downs are now mandatory for anyone who sets off a metal detector, or refuses to walk through the X-ray scanner, which produces revealing images of the naked body.

TSA's New Pat-Down Technique Unnerves Some

INDIANAPOLIS -- Some Indianapolis travelers are unsure about a new pat-down technique now in effect at airports across the country.The Transportation Security Administration is moving from the screener's traditional backward hand pat to more of a front-of-hand sliding motion, 6News' Renee Jameson reported.

Passengers at Indianapolis International Airport who set off a metal detector or are flagged for additional screening will have the option of the going through new pat down or undergoing a full body scan, airport officials said...

Hugo Perez doesn't like the idea of possibly exposing sensitive areas to a full-body scanner at Los Angeles International Airport.

But the notion of getting frisked by a security screener using his palms, rather than the backs of his hands, irks Perez even more.

"It sounds like they're going to treat us like we're being arrested or something," the Silver Lake resident said before boarding a flight from LAX to celebrate Halloween festivities in San Francisco this weekend.

"I don't want to go through those scanners," he said. "But I really don't want to get felt up by someone before I get on a plane, especially for a short flight."

With the flip of their hands, security screeners on Friday began patting down airline passengers using a flat and open palm in a sliding motion while conducting checks at LAX and airports across the country, the Transportation Security Administration said.

Pat-downs are usually conducted when metal detectors and whole-body imaging scanners detect something suspicious on a passenger, or when a traveler opts out of using the machines.

"TSA is in the process of implementing new pat-down procedures at checkpoints nationwide as one of our many layers of security to keep the traveling public safe," TSA spokesman Nico Melendez said in a written statement...

Commuters who ride PATCO trains between southern New Jersey and Philadelphia should expect random searches of their clothing, pockets, bags and vehicles on their morning trip to work.

Twelve Transportation Security Administration screeners, armed with an explosive-sniffing K-9, checked 663 commuter bags randomly selected from the morning rush at the Lindenwold station Tuesday.

"It was chaotic," Kevin Greczyn, an accountant from Magnolia who commutes to Philadelphia daily, told the Courier Post. "Nobody was sure what was happening, whether it was safe to get on the train, or whether we were carrying something we shouldn't be.”

Delaware River Port Authority Police Chief David McClintock told The Courier Post of Cherry Hill screeners were looking for improvised explosive devices and weapons.

The chief says that out of the 6663 bags searched between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m., a crack pipe was the only item confiscated.

“We can conduct any kind of search we want," said McClintock. "We could ask TSA to bring wands or X-ray machines like they have in airports, though we don't think that's appropriate for PATCO riders at this time."

There are about 5,000 commuters passing through the Lindenwold daily, according to the Courier Post. The searches will be conducted by a freshly hired DRPA police several times a month, --without advance warning -- at various PATCO stations.

A special Delaware River Port Authority police unit plans to conduct surprise searches at various PATCO stations.
