Guerena did not fire a single shot in the incident, but Pima County Chief Criminal Deputy Attorney David Berkman said in the report issued today that the five SWAT team members were justified in using deadly force because the former Marine pointed his weapon at them.
"A close examination of the rifle revealed it appeared to have been damaged by being fired upon from such an angle that it must have been pointed toward officers," Berkman wrote. "The officers were mistaken in believing Mr. Guerena fired at them. Guerena’s wife, Vanessa, heard a noise outside the couple’s home near Tucson at about 9 a.m. Jose, who had just gone to bed after pulling a 12-hour shift at the Asarco Mine, suspected — correctly, as it turned out — that his family was threatened by an armed criminal gang. Jose’s wife Vanessa called 911 after seeing a knot of armed men approaching her home. She insists that the assailants never identified themselves as police. After waking up her husband — who had just finished the graveyard shift at a local mine — Vanessa hid in a closet with their four-year-old son. Jose grabbed his AR-15 and confronted the invaders, who burst through the door and started shooting. The intruders fired a total of 71 shots. The assailants initially claimed that Jose had fired on them — an entirely appropriate response to a criminal invasion of his home — but later admitted that the husband and father was killed before he could pull the trigger.
After the fatal fusillade, Vanessa pleaded with the SWAT team to call for medical assistance; rather than doing so, they held help at bay until their victim was dead, supposedly in the interest of “security.”...[Full Article]
SWAT Kills Decorated Marine, Jose Guerena - Tucson, Pima County, Arizona
TUCSON, Arizona - A decorated Marine's family cannot believe their loved one, who served two tours of duty overseas, is gone. They never expected him to die here at home at the hands of law enforcement. A Pima County Sheriff's Department SWAT team shot and killed Jose Guerena eight days ago; it was executing a search warrant. Four days ago, in a news conference, a sheriff's deputy said the department makes it clear when SWAT is about to enter a home. Lt. Michael O'Connor says SWAT says it never wants to be mistaken for other people, "We had our large armored vehicle there with the markings on it. It also has lights and sirens. It was going. So we do everything we can to try to portray the image that we're law enforcement, we're not home invaders." But, Guerena's wife, Vanessa, who hid in the closet with her youngest son while 71 rounds were fired her husband's direction, said she heard nothing. At any point did you hear them yell, 'police" or 'SWAT'?" KGUN9 asked. "No, no!" answered Guerena. A neighbor who heard the shooting corroborates the wife's account, "The only sirens I heard out here were like maybe 20-30 minutes into the entire ordeal," said David Watson. Watson is very familiar with gunfire and stressful situations; he's a Vietnam combat veteran, "I want to make this as clear as possible: you only heard the announcements after you heard the gunfire?" asked KGUN9 reporter Joel Waldman. Watson quickly answered, "Yes!" Raising questions about this assertion: "This was not a "no knock" warrant. We come in very high profile with lights and sirens. We go to the door. We pound on the door. We wait 15 seconds, and, then, we breach the door with a heavy tool and open the door," explained O'Connor. SWAT also entered Guerena's neighbor's house. "When I came home, the whole house was searched. All the doors were open. And, (our house) was searched through; it was like an invasion of privacy," said Carissa Franco. SWAT says it was concerned about a hole in the Franco's home, worried someone else could've been wounded. So, it said it did what they needed to get inside. Pima County released a statement about that breach, saying in part, "The Regional SWAT Team made entry into two additional residences very soon after the deadly force encounter. This was done in order to ensure that there were no injured persons in those residences as a result of the shooting. These entries were made without warrants due to the exigency of the circumstances. No one was home at either residence when entry was made.
(CBS/AP) PHOENIX - Arizona has become a national leader in the gun rights movement in recent years as the state enacted law after law to protect the people's right to bear arms nearly anywhere, at anytime.
The shooting rampage that wounded Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, a former legislative colleague, has done nothing to slow down the Legislature. Gun rights bills were introduced in the days after the shootings last week, and more proposals are to come.
"I don't think it really changes anything," Republican state Sen. Ron Gould said of the mass shooting. "I don't see how gun control could have prevented that shooting unless you take guns out of the hands of law-abiding citizens." ...
Tucson, gunfire in the streets, a member of congress set for public execution, the proverbial bullet to the back of the head. Victim two, for good measure, a federal judge, his life threatened hundreds of times, dead. PHOENIX — A 22-year-old man described as a social outcast with wild beliefs steeped in mistrust faces a federal court hearing on charges he tried to assassinate Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and killed others in a Tucson shooting rampage.
Public defenders are asking that the attorney who defended Oklahoma City bombing conspirator Timothy McVeigh and "Unabomber" Ted Kaczynski defend Jared Loughner, who makes his first court appearance Monday afternoon...
The Arizona Republic and Reuters report accused shooter Jared Loughner will likely be represented by veteran federal public defender Judy Clarke. Loughner, who's already been charged with five counts of murder and attempted murder, including that of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ), will appear in federal court today in Phoenix. Clarke, who's now in private practice, collaborates with the Federal Death Penalty Resource Counsel; she's expected to request assignment to the case, a step that sheds light on the possible severity of Loughner's punishment, should he be convicted.
Clarke is no stranger to highly charged murder cases. She assisted in the defenses of 9-11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui, the "Unabomber" Theodore Kaczynski, Atlanta Olympic bomber Eric Rudolph and Susan Smith, the South Carolina woman who drowned her toddlers in 1994. Jared Loughner, the gunman who shot Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and numerous other victims including a Federal Judge and a nine-year-old girl during a political event in Tucson today, was a US military recruit who was obsessed with mind control, mirroring the circumstances of many other mass shooters in history.
Loughner’s You Tube channel contains several rambling text-based videos which discuss his fascination with mind control.
Loughner’s vulnerable and psychotic profile, combined with his interest in mind control, mirrors other famous assassins such as Mark David Chapman, John Hinckley, as well as Columbine killers Harris & Klebold.
Indeed, it has now emerged that Loughner’s profile matches almost precisely with Harris & Klebold. He was a long-haired pot-smoker who classmates described as “left-wing,” and was into worshipping skulls, dressing up like the grim reaper and burning American flags.
Loughner fits into the classic satanic/vampire cult wannabe mould, which makes the establishment’s effort to conflate him with conservatives and tea partiers all the more deceptive.
Loughner’s interest in the occult makes him an even more vulnerable individual and it also suggests that he may have been taking psychotropic drugs, with is another trait shared by innumerable mass murderers. Indeed, as Mike Adams explains,

In fact, numerous public shootings have been carried out by those who are either on psychiatric medications or who have recently stopped taking them (which can be just as dangerous in the short term). Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold talked about how their world had become like a dream, where they couldn’t tell the difference between the dream world and the waking world. Those are now virtually the same words as Jared Lee Loughner who, in his various ramblings, talked about “sleepwalking” during the day and “conscience dreaming [sic]” at other times.
While we have no proof yet that psychiatric drugs are involved here, we do see a very suspicious pattern of mental instability that suggests a likely connection. The sleepwalking behaviors Loughner describes are, in fact, common side effects of psychotropic drugs such as Ambien, which is famous for causing people to actually “sleep drive” into town and suddenly awake in the middle of the road, driving their car in their pajamas, with no knowledge of how they got there (http://www.naturalnews.com/019413.html).
I must stress that we don’t yet know whether Loughner was on sleeping medications or psychiatric drugs, but his behavior fits the pattern of someone who was: The lack of touch with reality, the violent and indiscriminate shooting, and the interweaving of the dream world with the real world.
Another paralel can be drawn to Sirhan Sirhan, the accused assassin of Robert Kennedy. Although Sirhan was blamed as the lone individual behind the shooting, forensic evidence that emerged in 2008 confirmed that he did not fire the fatal shot.
As the London Independent reported in 2005, evidence strongly indicates that Sirhan was a Manchurian candidate, a victim of mind control who was set up to be the fall guy for the murder. Sirhan was described by eyewitnesses as being in a trance-like state as he pulled the trigger.
“There was no way Sirhan Sirhan killed Kennedy,” said (Sirhan’s lawyer Larry) Teeter, who has filed the lawsuit to preserve the pantry for further forensic examination. “He was the fall guy. His job was to get busted while the trigger man walked out. He wasn’t consciously involved in any plot. He was a patsy. He was unconscious and unaware of what was happening – he was the true Manchurian Candidate.”
Teeter does not know for certain who hypnotised Sirhan, but, he said: “I know it was done. It was consistent with the US government’s programme developed by the CIA and Military Intelligence to enable handlers to get people to commit crimes with no knowledge of what they are doing.”
Evans goes further and names the hypnotist as a Dr William Joseph Bryan Jnr. He had worked on a CIA mind-control programme called MKULTRA and claimed to have moonlighted as a technical adviser on The Manchurian Candidate. The hypnosis, says Evans, had been done over three months, a period known as the “white fog” when the Los Angeles police task force later investigating the assassination – and trying to construct a meticulous timetable of Sirhan’s activities up to the shooting – lost track of him.
Sergeant Bill Jordan, the detective who was Sirhan’s first interrogator, told Evans: “We took him back for more than a year with some intensity – where he’d been, what he’d been doing, who he’d been seeing. But there was this 10- or 12-week gap, like a blanket of white fog we could never penetrate, and which Sirhan himself appeared to have a complete amnesia about.”
“He is absolutely innocent. He is not the person who did the shooting. He was out of position and out of range and he couldn’t have done it.”
The CIA’s use of mind control to create killers is a matter of historical record. MK-ULTRA was the code name for a covert, illegal CIA human research program, run by the Office of Scientific Intelligence that came to light in 1975 through investigations by the Church Committee, and by a presidential commission known as the Rockefeller Commission. 14-year CIA veteran Victor Marchetti insists that the program is ongoing and has not been abandoned.
Whether or not Jared Lee Loughner acted alone is being investigated by officials. A second suspect in the shootings is still being sought. However, Loughner’s obsession with mind control is confirmed and given the historical connection between such events and the use of Manchurian candidates, nothing can be ruled out at this stage.

THE STORY:
Jared Loughner is in custody after a shooting in Tucson today that killed 4 thus far including a small child and a Federal judge. Seriously wounded is a member of congress, Gabrielle Giffords, who is expected to survive.
News reports from Fox and other networks that Loughner is a US Army combat veteran of the war in Afghanistan are false. That such information, easily verified in seconds, was released to the world, was extremely irresponsible and highly prejudicial to veterans. Veterans Today finds this type of journalism despicable.
The weapon, reportedly a 9mm semi-automatic pistol with an extended “hi-capacity” magazine was recovered at the scene. Thus far 18 are reported wounded or dead.
News reports that say Loughner is a military veteran are false. By his own admission, he was in recruit processing in Phoenix, part of a controversial program meant to bring substandard inductees into the military.
Charges of “mind control” and “Manchurian Candidate” are already filling the internet.
This mysterious video was found on Youtube titled “Jared Loughner, My Final Thoughts”
In it he describes lack of sleep, thoughts of terrorism, discussions of currency and processing into the US Army.
Most frightening of all is the music. This is really bad music, indescribably inane, enough to drive anyone from an elevator or a shopping mall.
There is no proof that this is the right person, though this certainly looks like a suicide note from someone preparing to die in a terrorist attack, someone with issues about the bible and impending military service.

Here’s what he said: “The event was very informal: Giffords had set up a table outside the Safeway and about 20-30 people were gathered to talk to her. The gunman, who may have come from inside the Safeway, walked up and shot Giffords in the head first, “point blank”. According to Rayle, who is a former ER doctor, Giffords was able to move her hands after being shot.
“After shooting Giffords, the gunman opened fire indiscriminately for a few seconds, firing 20-30 rounds and hitting a number of people, including a kid no older than 10 years old. Rayle hid behind a concrete pole and pretended to be dead. When the gunman apparently ran out of ammunition he attempted to flee, but a member of Giffords’ staff tackled him. Rayle helped hold the gunman down while waiting for the sheriff to arrive, about 15-to-20 minutes later. The EMS came about 30 minutes later. Rayle said he was “stunned” by how long it took medical help to arrive. …”

Pauline Arrillaga of AP released the following description after consultations with local law enforcement:
“The man, who was photographed by a security camera, was described as white with dark hair and 40-45 years old.”
Additional video has been released and will be made available. There is absolutely no proof this person is involved nor has he been charged or that he is even being sought for questioning.
JEWISH GROUPS INDICATE SHOOTING MAY HAVE BEEN ANTI-SEMITISM, “GIFFORD A JEW”
Jewish news services, Israel and America, are reporting that Gifford was now a practicing Jew, after her visit to Israel in 2001. The JTA Jewish Global News explanation is below. There are a number of questions that are quite legitimately brought up in the article and some carefully avoided, such as the strong Israeli ties to PalinPac, the group that, with funding from Israeli American billionaires has pushed a strong Zionist agenda. With Israel backing both Gifford and financing those threatening her also, an avenue of possible investigation may need to be opened.
Giffords was elected to Congress in the Democratic sweep in 2006. The first Jewish woman elected to Congress from the state, she made her Jewish identity part of her campaign.
“If you want something done, your best bet is to ask a Jewish woman to do it,” said Giffords, a former state senator, said at the time. “Jewish women — by our tradition and by the way we were raised — have an ability to cut through all the reasons why something should, shouldn’t or can’t be done and pull people together to be successful.”
Giffords, 40, was raised “mixed” by a Christian Scientist mother and Jewish father, but said that after a visit to Israel in 2001, she had decided she was Jewish only. She attended services at a local Reform synagogue.
In one of her last photos, she posed with the new U.S. House of Representatives speaker, Rep. John Boehner (R-Ohio) at her swearing in; her hand is on the “Five Books of Moses.”
Giffords fought a hard election this year, against the national anti-incumbent, anti-Democratic mood. She tacked to the right of her party on immigration, saying border security was of primary consideration.
The election was called in her favor weeks after the vote.
Giffords’ office had been vandalized in March, after she voted for health care reform. Friends said she had received threats for her positions on health care and for opposing her state’s new law allowing police to arrest undocumented immigrants during routine stops.
The National Jewish Democratic Council suggested that the heated rhetoric of the last year contributed to the climate that led to the attack.

Giffords once began an op-ed piece for the Arizona Jewish Post with a proud recital of her family roots, explaining that she is the grandchild of Akiba Hornstein, who was “the son of a Lithuanian rabbi.” Her grandfather changed his name, she said, as did so many others who came to United States, to Giffords “for reasons of anti-Semitism.” More than 50 years later, “like my grandmother, I am a lifetime member of Hadassah and now a member of Congregation Chaverim,” she wrote.
The Congresswoman supports direct talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, believing that “peace between Israel and her neighbors can only be achieved by direct talks between the parties. Until the Palestinian leadership and other hostile regimes are willing to accept Israel’s right to exist, it will be impossible to achieve peace,” she wrote in 2006. “I believe that the United States can help by providing a mediator who can be trusted by both sides… “
During her tenure in the Arizona State Senate, Giffords had the opportunity to visit Jerusalem. “It was one of the most memorable experiences of my life,” she said.
“I got to see firsthand the sacrifices that Israelis make in the name of security because of the dangerous state of affairs there. I will always be a strong supporter of Israel.”

I’m going to let others comment on what this means for America. I just want to say what it means to me.
Gabrielle Giffords and I served together on the House Committee on Science and Technology. She was the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Space and Aeronautics, and I was a member of that subcommittee. Her D.C. office was one floor above mine.
I saw Gabby dozens, if not hundreds of times, during our two years together. And nearly every time that I can remember, she was smiling.
Gabby is one of the most cheerful, charming and engaging people I have ever known. She’s always looking on the bright side. She has something good to say about pretty much everyone. Bad news never lays a glove on her. She loves life, and all the people in it.
No matter what is going on in your life, after fifteen minutes with Gabby, you’ll feel that you can touch the stars.
Everyone knew that Gabby would have a tough race in 2010. (She actually won with 49% of the vote.) But I always thought that if each of her constituents could spend that fifteen minutes with her, and see what she is really like, then she would win with 99.9% of the vote. (Same thing about Harry Teague of New Mexico, who lost, and a few others that I could name.) You would want her as your Congressman, because you would want her as your friend.
I know nothing about the man who shot Gabby, and what was going through his mind when he did this. But I will tell you this – if he shot Gabby out of hatred, then it wasn’t Gabby he was shooting, but rather some cartoon version of her, drawn by her political opposition. Because there is no way – NO WAY – that anyone who really knows Gabby could hate her or hurt her. She is a kind, gentle soul.

TUCSON - The person of interest that sheriffs have been looking has stepped forward - he is a cab driver who unwittingly provided a ride to Jared Loughner, the shooting suspect.
Pima County Sheriffs confirm that the person of interest whose photo and description was released to the public early this morning is a cab driver, and not an associate or accomplice to the suspect.
Sheriffs say he was seen on the Safeway surveillance camera because he went in with Loughner to get change for the cab ride.
Get ready for the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords to be used in a serious way against the Tea Party movement. MSNBC, CNN and the rest of the Mockingbird media are now attempting to portray millions of Americans as violence prone anti-government radicals.
